The Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in the categories of Building Business as well as Excellence in Service
Tiff and I first met back in 2005 when both of our companies were involved in supporting a Winnipeg Humane Society fund-raising event. Since that time our companies have been working together for joint promotions, special events and as well I have been the photographer of record for her company Barks n’ Bubbles Pet Spa Inc. (previous name Style n’ Paws).
It’s great to see all her hard work being recognized and rewarded…especially if she wins! Below is a promotional portrait of Tiffany I did for awards submission, as well as a few misc image of the Barks n’ Bubbles shop itself.
So if you are looking for an excellent pet groomer, or at t wish to stop by and congratulate her and wish her luck with her award nominations, stop by or give her a call

Well, it looks like the first half of 2011 will be a busy one for me in regards to me speaking/teaching and otherwise helping fellow photographers improve their craft and produce better work for their clients. Last weekend the Manitoba chapter of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) held their “New Members Course”. I was in charge of teaching the lighting section of the event. Next up will myself and Fred Elcheshen putting on a 1/2 day program at the joint convention/seminar of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan chapters of PPOC held in Saskatoon in early March. There we will be teaching the foundation of photography – Lighting, Posing and Composition. So many new photographers don’t have a clue on what it takes to create a decent photograph, but that doesn’t stop them from misleading their clients and taking their money…leaving a swath of disappointed clients and crying brides in their wake. (Don’t get me on my soapbox about this!)
After a quick return to Winnipeg, I’ll be off to judge the British Columbia chapter of PPOC ‘s annual image competition later in March. Then, in June myself and Steve Hiebert will be putting on a seminar once again for the local PPOC-Manitoba Chapter – once again on lighting. SOMEWHERE in all of that I’ll be schedule an exam that I will need to give to for photographers (Canadian, American or International) that wish to take their written requirement for their “Certified Processional Photographer” (CPP) designation from the ” Professional Photographic Certification Commission. That needs to take place sometime this spring and again this fall, so I gotta schedule them somewhere in there! LOL
All of these organizations are actually there for the public’s well being. They are organizations that exist so that the buying public can be assured that the photographer they hire is actually talented, skilled and ethical. In this day and age of people buying a camera one day and opening their photography business the next (talent, skill, knowledge and ability be dammed – I want some quick cash and screw the public!) they are more important than ever. As someone who has achieved the title of Master Photographer part of that title is giving back to the industry – teaching others. Now, if only the unethical ones would see the light and change their ways… (I SAID get off the soapbox today Bruce! LOL)
Greetings from the North Pole….it’s that time of year again!
Every year Impact Photographic Design and Barks N’ Bubbles Pet Spa (formerly Style N’ Paws Pet Spa) team up and offer Holiday Pet Portraits with me (Santa!) As well, for our Jewish Furry Friends, they also offer Hanukkah portraits. So, bring your dog, cat, hamster, lizard, snake (non-poisonous only please – I cannot afford to be laid up at this time of year) or other furry/feathery friend down for a great time and some amazing portraits! Bring the kids (I mean the human ones) as well – make it a family portrait! HO, HO, HO!
Master Photographer Bruce Allen Hendricks MPA, F.Ph, CPP (The ONLY Winnipeg photographer Accredited in Animal Portraits by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) always makes both me and all my four legged little buddies look our jolly best – and it’s so much fun there as well! He’s know for his animal portraits Canada wide….so while there are other places that I offer to have pet portraits with me at this time of year (for political reasons I have to – you know how it is), I always enjoy working with Bruce from Impact Photographic Design at Barks N’s Bubbles the most and always get the best photographs by him every single year!
